we went to another giants' game last weekend.  the weather was PERFECT and we won!  such a great time with my aunt marianne and uncle bob, mom, dad, laura, baby dino, and my gang.

friday night soccer

we absolutely love going to soccer practice on fridays.  it's so fun to watch jack run around, introduce maddy to her life for the next few years (big brother practices!), and then park-it at the park for a bit.  then, as a fam, we either pick up take-out, or make a store-run for dinner fixins'.  i'm sure there'll be a day when i begrudgingly head to a practice, and reluctantly get take-out, but for now, the novelty is in full swing.  practices are what little boys are made of!

pre-k class, enrolled!

pete is the most amazing father!  among many, many, many examples is the one time (last week) that he woke up at THREE AM to park himself in a line to get jack into the pre-k class of our dreams!!!!!!  yep, we had to wait in a line in the middle of the night to get WAITLISTED for the class we wanted.  turned out that there was actually ONE opening, and because pete was first in line, we got the spot!  it all sounds crazy, especially for a city program, but the teacher is great, the schedule is the same we have now, and most of his current class will be in it as well.  jack doesn't do well with change, especially at school, so we wanted to do anything/everything we could to make the transition from his current class to pre-k as smooth as possible.  when we got lottery number 80, and kids in the 50s didn't get in, we knew we'd have to do something drastic.  we heard of some parents planning on getting there at 5... the madness began with that little tid-bit of info that led to our arrival time of 3:30.  good thing, though, because the other parents arrived around 4.   we are SO excited!  he starts june 4th, so i'll post a picture of his first day then!

laura, gran, and i attempted last minute pictures with the three grand-kids.  we scheduled an appointment, grabbed a bit to eat, and went back for the shots.  it was sort-of successful.  we got one shot of the three grands, but jack is so in love with it, he took it in his abyss black hole room.  hopefully i'll find it one of these days!

madelynn is three months old!

i can't believe maddy's three month birthday has come and gone so fast!!!  we are really enjoying our little lady!  she's eating well, and sleeping well.  she's still napping in her swing in the am (or car or wrap or wherever i've taken her!) and afternoon napping in her crib.  she sleeps at night, with usually only one wake-up for a meal.  and it's a long, 40minute MEAL, usually around 4am.  she'll sleep until 7 or so, eat, play a bit, and then nap again around 9.  it's quite nice!  i'm usually able to get a lot done while jack's at school.   i think she might be teething, too!  she's all about drooling and chewing on her hands, and we've had a couple nights where she's been inconsolable (except for nursing, she'll always settle down to eat!).  jack didn't get a tooth until he was 6 months old, so not sure if we're in the 'process' for the long haul or if she'll do her thing earlier.  jack didn't exhibit any behavioral changes (that i remember!  better look back!), so i'm not sure what the 'process' even looks like!

i took these photos of our little one, i am so in love with her!  we scheduled some time to get pictures of the two kids together this weekend, so i can sit in aw of the both of them next week!!!  (i should work on getting the color the same!)

i'm loving the warm weather days we're having (though they aren't consistent yet...)!  we've been sitting outside, soaking in the sun (in the shade).  jack runs around, sometimes in the sprinklers, sometimes playing ball, or chasing insects.  maddy watches her big bro, the trees whip in the wind, her doggies wander around.  i sit in wonder at my two beautiful, loving, precious kiddos.  it's bliss.
