Les' surprise Seattle shower: arrival and decor

After a thread chain of about 200 emails and quite a few texts, the three of us were picked up at the airport and taken to the house - oh, my! Les and jk have created the most adorable, so them, home in Seattle. I loved it!!!!

I sure missed this little guy!

Maddy walked around 'baby proofing' while we awaited the arrival of Devon, Trish, and Sarah.

Les' surprise Seattle shower: Maddy's first flight

Maddy and I left our house at 5am to meet Tara and fly to Seattle for Les' surprise baby shower! We were so excited that leaving the house that early and having stamina for the weekend was no problem!

We carried on our bag, I got baby k a sleep sheep rug + some other goodies and had to stuff them in y tiny suitcase! I hope this explains my lack of outfit variety and the occasional stained jean situation :).

It's hard to carry on a bag with both our cothes and present, diaper bag essentials, snacks, activities, and personal items! Maddy did well with the little options we had!

Above is baby girl ready to go! And below after a change out of her pajamas and some leg stretching before arriving at the airport.

Big girl was the BEST!!!

'round the home

we've done a couple projects around here to spruce up the place:

I painted the vanity in the kids bathroom a pretty red by Annie Sloan (Annie Sloan chalk paint in emperors silk with clear wax). I'm not in love yet, but I think ill get there!!

We got patriotic! Inside entry, front porch.

I added this scroll to the empty spot in the front triangle of our roof. We also replanted the area below.

In the world of gardening, we added more 'mommy's favorite' plants - hydrangeas - to the existing one. This isn't a great picture, but they are there! White this time.

I painted this gossip bench that I picked up for $1 (yep, one!) at a garage sale. Also ASCP in empowers silk with clear wax.

After debating with les & Dianne about the wording for the vinyl above the sink (Eat your damn peas! being the favorite) I went with 'heart of the hime' in Italian.

The mantle was switched after Easter to a spring/summer theme.

now I have ony about 500 things left on my to-do list! Ha!
