mother's day 2010

it's mother's day! pete gave me a box of paperclips and a sunglasses case....inside were puzzle pieces! he made a puzzle of a train, sushi menu, clown fish, the golden gate, and a picnic basket. jack and i spent some time putting them together:

the train and sushi menu represented one choice for the day - a trip to davis on the train to a nice sushi lunch. the other option was a trip to the city to the aquarium followed by a picnic lunch. they were both great options, but the weather has been a little unsettled, so i decided a day in davis would be great...

congrats, mr. & mrs. kanter!!

Les & Jamie's wedding was absolutely amazing!! I am still an emotional
basket-case, such a touching couple. I am dying because I don't have
any pics - was so into the moment, I forgot to record it. I am sure
Devon (thesmalld.Blogspot.com) got a ton of fab pics and Les will be
sure to share when she returns from her honeymoon. For now, an iPhone
pic from the bus ride home will have to do. Congrats again, l&j!!

to celebrate leslie & jamie!!! we are so happy for them!!!

Fore!

Jack loves ALL sports. He's such a boy. He'll watch football (go
bears! go forty-niners!), basketball (maghettie spaghetti!), and
baseball (giannnnts!). We shoot basketballs, toss the pigskin, kick
goals, play field hocky, catch and hit. We also golf, obviously:

Maybe it's not summer YET, but we sure treated this Saturday like a
summer night! We LOVE going to the Mexican meat market to purchase
delicious carne asada, coronas, and cheap avocado for my famous guac.
With temperatures in the upper 70's and a newly sodded backyard, we
decided to enduldge in our summer tradition. So. Much. Fun.

2nd haircut

Jack started screaming, "I don't want my hair cut mama!" after hearing
me mention my plan to daddy. He ended up sitting semi-quietly in the
chair for haircut #2. I did have to bribe him with a treat. He chose
m&ms (that's what you see on his handsome little face - at least he
shouted out the colors as he ate them!). He's still a little mad.

springtime in the city

on a sunny weekend in february, pete charged the mountain for a boys' ski weekend. jack and i charged the 80 to visit the kantahara's & their four-legged friends. after a wet-and-slightly-inappropriate hello to huddy, roxy, & gus, we all headed to a nearby park for some swinging. jack loved it:

we then ventured to the nearby safeway for some deli lunch and parked ourselves at a park (i'm sure it's famous 'cause it was absolutely beautiful with views all 'round, and i've been there plenty times before, but i can't remember it's name right now... ask a sf resident.)

we found some weeds to wish upon. try it jk!

the only thing missing was daddy...we'll have to take the drive the next time the sun blesses the bay with it's presence!

spring is here, and so are some new baby animals at gran and grandpa's house:

worming.

one day while pete & i were trying to get some yardwork done, we asked jack to hunt for worms for grandpa & the fish. unfortunately, hunting for worms requires an adult to lift the stepping stones. jack loves it, so at least one of us can focus on the yardwork...and it's usually pete ;).

@ the pond

jack has so much fun fishing. he asks to go every day. every time we drive to my parents' house, he says, 'that's grandpa's fishes'. here he is with the boys @ the pond:fishie!

that's a scooby doo fishing pole, fyi. also, do you like jack's fishing vest? we make a BIG deal out of how cool he looks so he won't mind the life vest. you never know with a 2yr old boy, he might chose to take a swim without even knowing it. lovin' the pond days.

bowling!

aunt laura, gran, jack, & i did a little bowling. jack had special bumpers that came up every time it was his turn and he loved rolling the ball down the lane! one game was enough for the little guy, but it was so fun while it lasted. great job, jackson :)

buchanan airport

oh how my boys like the airport. we could seriously spend every saturday watching these plans take off and land. a fence keeps the toddlers from running away - a parents' paradise.

leslie doesn't like the name of this recipe.

but, i feel if a place this cool calls them 'compost' cookies, i will too! here is our version. and may i say, DELICIOUS!!!


buffalo bleu chips, dark chocolate, peanuts, classic nestle, peanut butter filled pretzels. heaven.

jack loved them, too.
